3 big onions
½ cut of vegetable oil
Red bell pepper
Dry fish, or meat
Seasoning cubes and spices, e.g. curry, thyme, garlic, ginger, etc.
Salt to taste

Procedure for Making Onion Stew

STEP 1: Peel and wash the onions, then grate or blend them. Set aside.

STEP 2: Wash the red bell pepper, grate or blend it, and set aside.

STEP 3: Wash the dried fish with warm water and salt, and set it aside.

STEP 4: Heat a pot or frying pan over medium heat. Add vegetable oil and a few sliced onions. Fry for 2–3 minutes.

STEP 5: Continuously stirring, pour in the blended pepper and the washed, warmed dry fish. Simmer for 7 minutes.

STEP 6: Add the blended onions and crayfish, and stir thoroughly. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

STEP 7: Season with salt, spice to taste, adjust the seasoning cubes, and add a little water. Stir well and cook for 3 minutes. Avoid overcooking.

STEP 8: Turn off the heat and serve the hot onion stew with your desired dish or swallow.
