How to Make Spaghetti and Sweet Potato Jollof (Taliya da Dankali)

Equipment Needed

Cooking pot
Grater or blender

Ingredients for Making Taliya da Dankali

1 packet of spaghetti (taliya)
3 medium-sized sweet potatoes (dankali)
Vegetable oil or palm oil
Boiled meat and its broth
Salt to taste

Procedure for Preparing Taliya da Dankali

STEP 1: Peel the sweet potato, wash it, and cut it into desired sizes. Set it aside.

STEP 2: Wash the onions, pepper, and garlic. Then use a grater to grate them or a blender to blend them.

STEP 3: Put a pot over medium heat and add your vegetable oil or palm oil. Add sliced onions to it and allow it to fry for 4 minutes.

STEP 4: Now pour the boiled meat into the pot and fry for 5 minutes. When fried, pack the meat and set it aside.

STEP 5: Pour the grated or blended vegetables into the pot and fry for 3 minutes.

STEP 6: Add the broth to the pot and water.

STEP 7: Add your spices, seasonings, and salt to taste. Now close the pot lid and allow it to boil.

STEP 8: When it’s boiling, pour the spaghetti into it. You could break it into pieces or put it just the way it is. Allow cooking for 5 minutes.

STEP 9: Now pour the sliced or cut sweet potato (dankali) into the pot and mix very well. Allow it to cook for 8 minutes.

STEP 10: Add the fried meat and allow it to cook for 3 to 5 minutes.

STEP 11: Your Taliya da Dankali is ready.

How to Serve Taliya da Dankali

Serve this delicacy on a plate and enjoy it with water and a soft drink.
